Bursting Balloons - Slow Motion

I absolutely love seeing things like this. When you burst a balloon it happens so quickly that you can't actually see whats going on. I've seen similar images with someone shooting at fruit. Its incredible because the camera has managed to catch something that the eye is too slow to focus on. Image two is my favourite because you can see the stress lines in the balloon as it is burst and they even continue into the water.

These images were created by British Photographer Edward Horsford, who filled balloons with water and cleverly set  up his camera so that the noise of the balloon bursting would trigger a reaction from the camera that being the photograph. Beautiful. If you want to see more take a look a few of his sets on his flickr.
