I recently discovered the amazing photography of Rose Hardy. You may have already seen one of her images without even realising it. She is the person behind the photograph on the Maroon 5 album cover of Hands All Over. This image however is titled 'The Superhero in me is tired'. And this is what she has to say about it :)
Sophie (modelling) was an absolute star, and not only walked from my place to the location (Wood St, Deansgate) in full superhero outfit, but she stayed in multiple uncomfortable positions while we all got pictures we needed! She got 7 beeps and even the police stopped by to say hello.
What with all the horrible rioting going round the UK, and Manchester itself (a Sainsburys next to this spot was smashed in), I think a lot of people recently have been wanting a superhero to show. I was scared silly watching thugs walk past my apartment on Tuesday when it all kicked off, and even though you know the police are taking care of it as much as they can, I'm sure that everyone who was sat at home watching the news, seeing their city set on fire and destroyed, everyone's inner super hero was stirred. It was amazing to see the hundreds of people show to help clean up the next day, and in London also the images of the broom brigades were so awesome! So here's to all our inner superheros, who show up even when the real thing doesn't.
