More Exciting News | Pointe Blank

I have some more exciting news to share with you all. I've kept it fairly quiet online and saying nothing other than I have some exciting news! Well now I'm going to tell you all since I've pretty much finished my submission.

A few weeks ago I was contacted by the lovely Claire Hartley from Pointe Blank and was invited to take part in the Pointe Blank Collaborative Project 2012. What is this project? Well:

Collections of original images inspired by the plots of major narrative works in the repertory of Birmingham Royal Ballet, and created by professional designers in and around the UK.

Each time, the invited participants are not required to depict the story as a ballet, only to incorporate the Company name or logo. Visual references are made available, but in an attempt to keep the brief as unprescriptive as possible, the designers are not required to include them.

The works are presented as framed A3 prints, as well as in digital form at www.pointeblank.co.uk

This year Pointe Blank and The Birmingham Royal Ballet have chosen to depict Swan Lake. At first I thought I had a great idea and spent hours on it. Don't get me wrong it looks great but for me it just doesn't cut it for this collaboration. So I went back to my doodle book and drew one of the other ideas I shortlisted and now I have something that I am happy to submit! I'm not going to show all of it to you so you can just have a sneeky peak. What do you think so far?

All of the images from the project will be displayed as part of Cardiff Design Festival! For more information pop over here!
